June has a palpable energy that stands apart from every other season. Everything comes alive after a long winter and spring. The coastal brown bears are also sensing the changes in the season, the first salmon of the new year will be making their way home, and the bears will be there to greet them. The long daylight hours are also a unique aspect of fishing in June. With up to 18 hours of daylight, we have plenty of time to explore the vast wilderness of the Bristol Bay region and make the most of our trips. The long days have a way of recharging the soul after the long dark winter.
A typical day starts between 6-8 AM with a delicious breakfast to order, as well as coffee, tea, and juice. Lunches are prepared daily using fresh ingredients from local produce and greens from the garden, as well as homemade bread baked daily and sliced fresh. You’ll meet your guides at the boats or at the plane between 7-9 am. Based on the unique daily adventure, you’ll be back to the lodge around 4 pm to 5 pm. Appetizers are at 6 pm, and dinner is served at 7 pm.
